Ward-Prowse, Redmond and Forster reflect on "great week"
Southampton trio James Ward-Prowse, Nathan Redmond and Fraser Forster share their thoughts after being part of the England squad for games against Germany and Lithuania.
Ward-Prowse and Redmond were called up to the senior side for the first time and made their debuts in the 1-0 friendly defeat against Germany.
Goalkeeper Forster and left-back Ryan Bertrand have both been regulars for the country for a while now and it was pleasing to see two more Saints players link up with the Three Lions.

James Ward-Prowse:
"It's been a great week for us all and obviously for me personally.
"To get my first senior cap is a great honour and I've left the trip wanting more. It's a great challenge for us all here and hopefully it can lead onto better things as well.
"It was obviously a massive moment and one that you work very hard for. To come on against the world champions and sort of gain that experience can only make us better players and better people, so it's left us wanting more for sure.
"You end up playing with the best English players and it leaves you wanting to keep playing at this level. You get inspired and want to maintain that yourself."

Nathan Redmond:
"It's been a good experience.
"I'm obviously delighted to have played a part in one of the games and made my debut, so it's sort of a stepping stone and a building step for me.
"It's been a fantastic week training with the lads and to finish it off with the most important thing, which was a win in this group, is a good thing for all the boys and it keeps our spirits going into next week for our clubs.
"It was mixed emotions coming on. I was delighted to have done that, but then obviously the most important thing would be the result.
"But I'm delighted to have made my debut, got it out of the way, and now I can hopefully focus on putting performances in for the club and hopefully it will lead to being in the senior squad."

Fraser Forster:
"It's been brilliant.
"Berty's (Ryan Bertrand) played both games and obviously for these two (Ward-Prowse and Redmond) to get their first caps is something special for them and they'll use that to kick on and it'll be the first of many for both of them.
"It was a good week for us at Southampton, but also a good result [2-0 against Lithuania] and a clean sheet and three more points, so it ticks another box on the way to next summer."
Speaking of returning to Saints and the run of games coming up, Forser said: "it's very important. I think we need to get a few results and obviously get that momentum and it would set us up nicely going into the end of the season.
"We still want to have a strong finish and we need to win the games that we've got coming up."
