Two goals from Dušan Tadić saw Southampton pick up a vital three points against Bournemouth at St Mary's.

Reaction from Tadic: “It’s a little bit of a relief. We are very happy because we showed great character when it was most difficult.

“Finally we have got three points and I need to say thank you to everyone. How our fans supported us, the players and the coaches – we were strong together.

“It’s tough to be strong together in difficult moments but finally we got the benefits of that.

“It was great. You always remember these kinds of moments because they gave us extra energy, they pushed us.

“We also gave them something to make the atmosphere warm and we stayed together.

“You can feel how important this win was for the club and everyone at Southampton.”

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino has said that defender Virgil van Dijk will train alone and has asked to leave. "He is not involved with the team because psychologically he is not 100%," said the Saints boss. "When I was talking with him, the boy said that he is not available to play because he wants to leave. "I need to work with a player that works at 100% to defend Southampton. "This is the decision.
