Maya Yoshida has signed a new three-year contract with Southampton. The defender has played 138 games for Saints over five seasons since he arrived at the club in 2012. A Charlie Austin penalty helped Southampton secure their first win of the season in a five-goal thriller at St. Mary's. Saints took the lead through Manolo Gabbiadini who finished well when combining with Nathan Redmond. West Ham were then reduced to ten men when Marko Arnautovic was sent off just after the half-hour mark. Saints capitalised to double their advantage when Steven Davis was brought down in the area. Matt Targett has signed a new five-year deal with Southampton. The 21-year-old left back is a Saints Academy graduate and has been with the club since the age of eight.
