Southampton have completed the signing of 25-year-old Denmark defender Jannik Vestergaard from Borussia Mönchengladbach on a four-year deal. Vestergaard is the club's fourth signing of the summer after deals for Stuart Armstrong, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Angus Gunn have already been struck. Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has signed a new four-year contract after an impressive 2017/2018 season that saw the 28-year-old win the Fans’ and Players’ Player of the Season awards.
