A goal from Steven Davis on his 200th appearance for Southampton was enough to earn three points at Selhurst Park. Davis netted early in the game after just six minutes to ensure Roy Hodgson's first game in charge ended in misery to make it five straight Premier League defeats for Crystal Palace. A disappointing afternoon for Saints saw Watford run out 2-0 winners at St. Mary's. Abdoulaye Doucouré put the visitors ahead with a low drive seven minutes before the break.
